PEOPLE'S NATIONAL MOVEMENT

Building a Nation Together

The Youth League of the Peoples' National Movement wishes to express its extreme disgust and strong objection to the evil and wicked 'hate campaign' that has been launched against Political Leader of the PNM, Dr. Keith Christopher Rowley, and in particular to the erection of that caricature of our esteemed leader, on state property in the midst of our city.

Who granted permission for this hateful effigy to be erected on public property?

Have state funds been wasted on this newest edition of the PP's desperation?

As a nation, is this the direction we want our country to pursue in its electoral pursuits?

Can we as a nation seek redress for the embarrassment that this government has caused and continue to bring on this nation?

The nation fully understands that the proper way to send this sickly excuse for a government straight to Political Hades, is by democratic elections; but it seems the date is not quite near enough to instigate any semblance of decorum from the festering PP camp.  We have no issue with them being hell bent and decisively driving nails into their own coffins, but we demand that they leave the PNM family out of their noxious activities.

Have the PP and their circus ring master not seen that every single pit they have dug to trap Dr. Rowley, they have fallen into it themselves?  Have they not recognized that this nation named after the Heavenly Trinity, is storming the celestial realm with prayers for protection for our beloved leader and all PNM candidates for general elections?  Have they not seen that their nefarious attempts to demonize Dr. Rowley have all-backfired in their faces?  Yet they continue to follow Pied Piper Rodney Charles to their own doom.

The People’s National Movement, National Youth League, continues to register our faith in a man that cannot compare to any of them in this UNC led Government. Dr. Keith Rowley, is a man of dignity, integrity and morals. A true visionary like all the past leaders of the People’s National Movement. No amount of slander by their weak slander campaign can keep a man of his stature from being the next Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago come September 7th 2015.

Stop the Hate and please allow our citizenry to choose our government in peace!

Regards,

Aben Phillips

The Women’s League of the People National Movement wishes to register its abhorrence of a decision taken by the United National Congress, under the direction of its Political Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar to engage in a policy of personal vilification against Dr. Keith Rowley, the Opposition Leader and leader of the People’s National Movement.

This policy of vilifying and demonising Dr. Rowley was first unveiled via a leaked memo written by the party’s Campaign Manager, Rodney Charles, under the instruction of Prime Minister, Persad-Bissessar, who recalled him from a diplomatic posting to undertake the assignment last year.

It has thus far included an illegal and unprecedented vote of no confidence against the Opposition Leader and a motion of censure suspending him, all led by Persad-Bissessar and aimed at vilifying Dr. Rowley in the eyes of the general population.

Mrs Persad-Bissessar’s re-election strategy reached its low point after the vile contribution of the MP for Tobago East, Mrs. Vernella Alleyne-Toppin, who under the cover of Parliamentary privilege, cast reprehensible accusations against Dr. Rowley, his mother, father and the entire family.

After being universally condemned, the fact that Mrs. Persad-Bissessar, who, from reports now in the public domain, lives in a glass house from which she should not be throwing stones, can have the effrontery to sign-off on a strategy of personal vilification, suggests that the UNC is even more desperate than the credible opinion polls suggest.

What is worse is that Mrs. Persad-Bissessar continues to abuse the resources of the State in her campaign for re-election, now going as far as defacing a national monument, by using the Port of Spain museum for its offensive political displays.

The Women’s League of the PNM condemns Mrs. Persad-Bissessar’s for having two men, Charles and Vasant Bharath do the dirty work that we in the PNM, have always know that she is capable of doing. We call on the media and the right-thinking people of Trinidad and Tobago to insist on decency in the conduct of our elections and to call out Mrs. Persad-Bissessar on taking campaigning to a new low.

STATEMENT

The Minister of Health owes the Chinese and the wider national community an unqualified apology for his irresponsible and reckless statements made with respect to the recent airing of a video showing the kill of a dog.

In his usual cavalier and uncaring manner, the Minister has brought ridicule to children at school and the entire Chinese community.

It has generated emotional hurt and serious business losses for which the Minister must be roundly condemned.

Dr Keith Rowley

Today's UNC unmasking of themselves at the Hyatt is simply the unveiling and formalisation of an ongoing personalised hate campaign which ought to be wholly rejected by the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

This is only their latest investment which they believe will substitute for accounting for their disastrous record which they now seek to run away from.

What this country needs is a clean campaign on ideas, issues and accountability.

The nation must reject this shameful type of politics especially when it comes from people who talk glibly about uniting the country when all that they offer is hatred, incompetence and divisiveness.

This UNC Government will be judged on their known record and not on how much they hate Keith Rowley.

It is time to join the Muslim community in celebrating the holy festival of Eid-al-Fitr, after the intense period of prayer and fasting for Ramadan.

Although charity, generosity, gratitude and showing love to your fellowman are always important in Islam it is especially significant at this holy time. Furthermore, if these qualities are emulated by all citizens and perpetuated throughout the year, Trinidad and Tobago will be a much better place to live.

The spirit and principles of the Festival of Eid are indeed part of the prescription needed to remedy most of society's ills. We realise that we cannot afford to sit idly by and let greed, selfishness, ingratitude, corruption and intolerance permeate our beloved nation. In keeping with the teachings of Islam, each and every one of us can do our part to make this place better by the way we conduct ourselves and how we treat others.

This is an ideal time, as we join our Muslim brothers and sisters in the joyous and holy festival, to make the personal choice to do better, every day of our lives.

I also take this opportunity , on behalf of my family and the People's National Movement, to wish the Muslim community and all of Trinidad and Tobago, Eid Mubarak.

Dr Keith Rowley
